The After School Connection offers quality school-age child care for working parents/guardians that provides opportunities and experiences that stimulate a child’s intellectual, social, physical, and emotional development. We strive to create a warm, supportive and friendly environment which allows children the opportunity to create and participate in successful friendships and partnerships. The After School Connection is a choice program that offers children both structured and non-structured learning opportunities, all under the guidance of trained, caring and professional staff within a secure and familiar environment.

AFTER SCHOOL CONNECTION VACATION CAMP
The After School Connection program offers full day vacation camps during the the Winter and Spring Recess school vacation week. Vacation camp is open to all White Plains elementary school children for a weekly fee separate from the fee paid for the regular daily program. The program takes place at one of the elementary schools and is open from 8:30 am to 6 pm.

GROWING WHITE PLAINS COMMUNITY AGRICULTURE PROJECT
The White Plains Youth Bureau and the Recreation and Parks Department have opened a new community agriculture project on the grounds of New York Hospital, adjacent to the existing community garden. Featuring a large plot of excellent fenced growing land, where vegetables, herbs and flowers, will be harvested using organic methods, for donation to the White Plains food pantry for distribution. The garden is maintained and cared for by community residents.
Garden members have the opportunity to learn about gardening, engage in healthy activities with their families, and contribute to this wonderful extension of the concept of White Plains Cares by helping provide healthy food to our neighbors in need.
For more information or to register for a program or activity contact the White Plains Youth Bureau at 914-422-1378 or email us at whiteplainsyouthbureau@whiteplainsny.gov. |
