STEM Camp

Summer STEM Camp is a unique learning experience for middle school students who will evolve into our next generation of innovators, engineers, doctors, software developers, mathematicians, and physicists.
During this six-week Summer camp, students learn by doing as they take part in hands-on simulations, workshops and site visits, while making new friends and having unforgettable adventures.

STEM Camp meets Monday – Friday 9:00 am – 3:30 pm at Eastview Middle School

Full Fee: $907
Scholarship Fee: $545

Family must reside in White Plains. Must complete a registration form, and provide an up to date copy of child’s immunization record and physical exam at time of registration.
To apply for scholarship, must furnish copy of most recent year’s federal 1040 tax form

Registration forms can be downloaded from this page or picked up at the White Plains Youth Bureau.

Completed registration forms will be accepted and approved by Youth Bureau staff between the hours of 9:00 am – 6:00 pm.

When submitting your completed registration forms, please ensure that all pages are completely filled out, dated and signed. If you are applying for the scholarship, please submit a copy of the first two pages of your Federal 1040/2025 Tax Form.

You must also submit a copy of the student’s medical and immunization records.

Youth Bureau staff will no longer make the copies for you.

Growing White Plains​

A community agriculture project through which volunteers from White Plains and surrounding communities grow vegetables and herbs to be donated to the Ecumenical Emergency Food Pantry and other organizations helping to meet the food needs of residents of the City in need. Participants also learn about organic gardening and share healthy outdoor activity with friends and family.

Program operates during the garden growing season, from February through November at two community garden sites, on the grounds of New York Presbyterian Hospital near the Bryant Ave. gate, and at the Bethel Community Garden, corner of Prospect St. and Sterling Ave. There is also a greenhouse located behind the Ebersole Ice Rink.

To participate, register as a member of Growing White Plains by filling out a brief registration form and adding your name and e-mail address to the distribution list so we can let you know when garden activities take place. Volunteers are free to visit or work in the garden at any time it is convenient for them.

There is no charge for participation in Growing White Plains

Come learn this Brazilian art form that combines martial arts, gymnastics, and dance all to music and drumming! 

Tuesday 4pm to 6:00pm at the Youth Bureau Fitness Room

Saturday 2pm to 4:00pm at the Youth Bureau Fitness Room

The program is free of charge to families in White Plains.

Students in 1st grade through 12th grade are all welcomed.

Bits ‘n Pieces Tutorial Summer Camp

Bits ‘n Pieces Tutorial Summer Camp offers children entering grades 1 through 5 the opportunity to stay on track with their studies.  The program offers a safe, enjoyable and educational six-week program emphasizing reading, writing and critical thinking.  In addition, tennis, swimming, arts & crafts, music and field trips are a part of this summer experience.

Bits ‘n Pieces Camp meets Monday – Friday 8:30 am – 5:00 pm at Church Street School

Extended Day from (5:00 – 5:30 pm) an additional $35.00 per week.

Before School Program

The Before School Program is a school-age child care youth development program for working parents/guardians that provides opportunities and experiences that stimulate a child’s intellectual, social, physical and emotional development. Children are able to develop friendships with their peers and positive relationships with caring adults in a warm, supportive and friendly environment. The Before School Program is a place where children can follow their own interests and choose among a variety of stimulating activities, under the guidance of adult staff, within a secure and familiar environment.

  • Supervised activities include breakfast, games, sports, arts & crafts and special activities.

REQUIREMENTS for CHILD CARE SUBSIDY FORMS
Please be advised that ALL parents are required to submit September’s fee to secure a spot in the Before & After School Program. This policy applies to both returning and new parents. You must submit your new childcare provider form along with your registration forms and fee.

We will accept forms from the following agencies:

  • Westchester County DSS Child Care Subsidy
  • Childcare Council of Westchester, Inc.
  •  Local 100-MTA Childcare Fund

There is a 72-hour turnaround time to process all forms. We will contact the parent once the forms are ready for pick up to deliver to your subsidy agency. Once we receive the letter of approval from the caseworker, we will process the September refund.

Every full school day, September through June End of school day till 6 pm (extended hours till 6:30 pm for additional fee)

Locations: Church St., George Washington, Mamaroneck Ave. Post Road and Ridgeway elementary schools; Highlands and Eastview middle school campuses

When submitting your completed registration forms, please ensure that all pages are completely filled out, dated and signed.  You must also submit a copy of your child’s physical AND immunization record.  If you are applying for the scholarship, please submit a copy of the first two pages of your Federal 1040/2023 Tax Form.

FORMS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED VIA EMAIL OR VIA FAX.

After School Connection

Welcome to the After School Connection Program (ASC). The ASC is just one of many youth development programs developed and offered to the residents of White Plains by the City of White Plains Youth Bureau. The Youth Bureau is able to offer quality after school programming to over four hundred students a day in the White Plains community. Our After School program offers a safe, quality, school-age child care youth development program for working parents/ guardians that provides opportunities and experiences that stimulate a child’s intellectual, social, physical and emotional development. We strive to create a warm, supportive and friendly environment where children are able to develop friendships with their peers and positive relationships with caring adults.
