Alicia Hardy-Josephs is a White Plains, NY native and 2004 graduate of White Plains High School. Alicia actively participated in programs offered by the White Plains Youth Bureau. Alicia obtained her first summer job through the Youth Bureau as a clerical assistant at Pace University’s Women’s Justice Center.

After graduating from high school, Alicia furthered her education at Dominican College and graduated in 2008, with her Bachelors of Arts degree in Liberal Arts and minored in Communication. Upon graduating, she started working for the Youth Bureau as the Future Excel Coordinator at White Plains High School. Her role consisted of teaching and preparing students for jobs and career exploration. While working for the Youth Bureau, she found her passion, which was to work with youth and their families to further enhance their education, social emotional wellbeing, and preparing them for college, and employment.

After finding her passion, Alicia went back to school to earn a Master’s degree in Social Work from Fordham University. Upon graduating, she obtained a School Social Worker position at Mount Vernon High School, where she worked for 3 years. Alicia currently is a School Social Worker for the City School District of New Rochelle. Her responsibilities include: providing individual and group counseling, helping students with developmental disabilities obtain support services, finding resources and advocating for students and their families, and helping students grow socially and academically.

Alicia is thankful for Mr. Williams and the White Plains Youth Bureau for laying a strong foundation and allowing her to find her true passion. She enjoys helping others reach their full potential. With God, her husband, children, and family, Alicia knows she can accomplish anything.
