Sharisse “She-Salt” Stancil-Ashford is a Singer, Songwriter, Poet/MC, Activist and Music Industry Professional from White Plains, NY. Growing up, Sharisse was involved in many programs offered by the Youth Bureau, including the Youth Employment Program and the Afterschool Connection Program, as a student and youth assistant.

Currently, Sharisse is the Associate Director of Urban Promotion & Network Relations at RCA Records, A Division of Sony Music Entertainment where she oversees business operations and implements radio and video campaigns for some of today’s top artists including SZA, H.E.R., Alicia Keys, Miguel, and Khalid, to name a few.

As a musical artist, she has crafted her own style, using her gifts to command every stage she steps on. Performing since the age of 11, she honed her vocal skills in school and church choirs, while developing deft lyrical ability at open-mic events and poetry slams. She has performed throughout the Tristate area, foster homes, correctional facilities, juvenile detention centers and hospitals. In 2015, she performed an original poem in honor of Human Rights Activist, Malcolm X at the 50th Memorial Anniversary in Harlem, which was featured on notable outlets including Ebony.com and Democracy Now!

Sharisse is committed to improving the lives of Black Women and Girls. She is a member of the Westchester Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., where she has served in many capacities, including Chairperson of the Dr. Betty Shabazz Delta Academy. As a member of the #SheWoke Committee, Sharisse along with other Black women activists, helped form the first Congressional Caucus on Black Women and Girls. Sharisse volunteers her time and talents to several organizations including, NAACP ACT-SO as a guest judge and mentor.
