Amanda Gonzalez was born and raised in White Plains, NY. The Youth Bureau was a vital stepping stone to her academic and professional achievements. With the help of Janet Spencer, The Youth Bureau helped Amanda get her first job. Amanda participated in the Youth Employment Services (YES) from the ninth grade until her sophomore year of college. YES allowed Amanda to gain experience in a variety of fields and network with the people she continues to work with today.
After graduating from White Plains High School, Amanda attended the University of Connecticut in Storrs, CT. Amanda graduated from UConn in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Allied Health and a minor in Biology. After graduating college, Amanda returned home to Westchester to continue her graduate studies at New York Medical College while working full time as Quality Assurance assistant. Amanda graduated from New York Medical College in 2018 with a Masters in Public Health with a concentration in Health Policy and Management. After graduation, she worked in New York City as National Program Coordinator for the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
Today, Amanda is working for White Plains Hospital as Outreach Coordinator where she gets to work closely with the Youth Bureau to help create programming that continues to serve the White Plains youth. Amanda’s passion for helping others continues to flourish in her personal and professional life.
