Lieutenant Colonel Dwayne A. Murray
Lieutenant Colonel Dwayne A. Murray was born in Brooklyn, and moved to White Plains in the 7th grade. He graduated from White Plains High School in 1992. LTC Murray was a standout athlete and earned his varsity letter in football, track and field, and cross country. His exposure to community service, activism, and opportunities for youth like himself started at a very young age. His father, Darryl J. Jenkins was the founder of Winbrook Pride; an organization designed to bring positive role models and experiences to the youth of the Winbrook Housing Development and the City of White Plains. The White Plains Youth Bureau was also a critical part of his growth and development; he participated in numerous programs and activities through the White Plains Youth Bureau, such as summer employment.
LTC Murray currently serves as the Executive Officer for the 5th U.S. Army Recruiting Brigade at Joint Base San Antonio, Texas. During the course of LTC Murray’s 23 year military career he has been received numerous military awards and decorations. He has served in many command and staff leadership positions all over the world. He spends time as a mentor to the next generation of military leaders through the ROCKS Inc.; the only Department of Defense recognized mentoring group. LTC Murray also serves his local community as part the Care and Comfort Ministry at Community Bible Church of San Antonio, Texas.
LTC Murray believes that being a part of team is critical to growth and development. “Team Murray” includes his awesome wife Lieutenant Colonel Alison Murray; a U.S. Army Nurse Corps Officer and his three boys, Dwayne II, Caleb and Malachi.
