What We Do
The White Plains Youth Bureau serves more than 2,000 youth each day and more than 6,500 kids each year.
The Youth Bureau offers a wide variety of youth development programming to support the growth of every young person in White Plains. The work of the Youth Bureau is to support every young person in White Plains to reach their potential and have caring adults to serve as role models.

Some Things You May Not Know About Us
- The White Plains Youth Bureau is the largest direct service provider of the 105 Youth Bureaus in New York State.
- The WPYB is a best practice agency. Best Practices are model exemplary science evidence based programs that are proven effective in their service delivery methods.
- Some of our Best Practice Programs are: Youth Employment Services - After School Centers - Intergenerational Program - 86 DeKalb After School Computer Learning - Saturday Academy Program - Clubman Higher Aims Program - Mayor's Youth Council - Mentoring Program - ACE (Achieving Competence Through Education).
- The Intergenerational Program was selected as part of the Mayor's Downtown Renaissance Development Program as one of thirty finalist for the "All American City Award" in Atlanta, Georgia.
- Members of our Intergenerational Program spoke to members of the Rockefeller Foundation regarding the importance of establishing Intergenerational Programs throughout the United Sates and developing connections between senior citizens and youth.
- Our Boxing program has been visited by Mike Tyson, Renaldo Snipes and Carl "The Truth" Williams.
- The WPYB receives calls from Canada and as far away as Washington State to discuss our service delivery model for children, youth and families.
- On Saturdays, the WPYB serves nearly 300 youth in specialized programs.
- The WPYB provides services to kids in all White Plains Public School buildings, all Housing Authority Centers, Slater Center and Centro Hispano.
- The WPYB was instrumental in helping build Andy's Place at Saxon Woods Park. We were also instrumental in helping to build the Outward Bound Adventure Camp at Camp Sloane in Sullivan, CT.
