Will Dixon is an educator that has worked as a teacher and school administrator for the past twenty-seven years. He currently serves as a House Administrator at White Plains High School. Working at White Plains High School has allowed him to give back and serve young people in his home community. Upon entering the field of education, it was always a goal of Mr. Dixon’s to one day return to White Plains in order to assist and mentor students as they work toward creating a positive future for themselves and their families.
After graduating from High School, Mr. Dixon attended Hampton University where he received a BS in Marketing. He went on to earn his MBA from Purdue University and an MA from Columbia University.
The White Plains Youth Bureau was an instrumental part of Mr. Dixon’s foundation. He began attending the Youth Bureau when he was in the 7th grade and spent many days in the Teen Center and gym as it was a safe haven. The many adults that worked with the Youth Bureau served as mentors that taught him many valuable skills, such as interviewing techniques and how to write a resume. It was the Youth Bureau that gave him his first job and many others, including an opportunity to work as a teacher in the Saturday Academy Program. These job opportunities provided him with the opportunity to build his confidence and interpersonal skills. Their support continues to this day as they assist many of the students that he works with as they work to reach their goals and make their own dreams come true.
