Diana Sigona was a White Plains resident her entire life, before moving to Sydney, Australia in 2016. During high school, she was a member of the Mayors Youth Council for 4 years. Getting involved in the community was important, after seeing her older brother Matthew lead the way. One of the draws of joining the Youth Council was the chance to build a community with other students, including those from private schools, not just her immediate network at WPHS. This gave her the opportunity to think outside her friendship circles and grow new ones.

Diana also participated in many Relay for Life events, took part in the spring break college visit programs, walked in many city-sponsored parades, and volunteered at the White Plains Armory for many holidays and charity functions. She fondly remembers partnering with clubs at White Plains High School to advocate for causes important to her, such as SAAD and DARE. A highlight for her was winning the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. I Have A Dream Award for outstanding community service commitments and receiving that at the County Center with her mentor at the time, Catherine Backes, by her side, and watching her father cry in the audience. Youth Council gave Diana the confidence to use her voice, get out in the community and do good for others.

Always curious and forever traveling, Diana is now is a marketing and communications executive at PwC Australia where she lives with her husband and 20 month old son, Dylan. The family is expecting another baby in November.
