Dr. Allana M. Brown

Allana M. BrownDr. Allana Brown, DNP, PMHNP-BC, RN-BC grew up in the city of White Plains. During her adolescent years she was actively involved in programs and activities offered by the White Plains Youth Bureau. She participated in Great Potential, took piano lessons afterschool, developed positive relationships with her peers and adult role models at the youth lounge, and adopted solid life skills for success as a mentee in their mentorship program.

Dr. Brown is now a board-certified psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner. She holds Bachelor of Science degrees in Biology and Nursing from The College of New Rochelle. She worked as a registered nurse at St. Vincent’s Hospital Westchester and New York Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Irving Medical Center prior to receiving a doctorate of nursing practice (DNP) degree from Fairfield University. Dr. Brown received extensive training in psychotherapy and the prescribing of psychotropic medication for various mental health disorders.

Dr. Brown provides mental health treatment services to children, adolescents, adults and those with intellectual and developmental disabilities. She currently works in outpatient mental health clinics in the Bronx and Westchester. Dr. Brown is committed to patient care and professional development. She is an adjunct assistant professor at Bronx Community College and has a special interest in advancing psychiatric nursing practice through education, research and quality improvement projects.
