Kia Freeman is no stranger to television and film production. She started her production career at the early age of 14 through telecommunication programs sponsored by the Youth Bureau.
This early introduction led to Kia hosting a local TV show entitled Teen Insight for the Youth Bureau. Kia realized that she liked working behind the scenes as a technical director and producer, and this launched her passion and journey into the television and production industry. Kia attributes her success as a film and television producer to her first experience with Youth Bureaus Teen Insight television show.
After graduation, Kia went onto attend Delaware State University. She graduated with a degree in Mass Communications: Television Production. Shortly after graduating college, Kia moved to Washington DC and launched Free Mind TV & Films with Gregory Freeman. The company has produced public awareness videos, marketing videos and short documentaries for dozens of non-profit organizations, small businesses and government agencies throughout Washington, DC and the surrounding areas.

The films include “All In” starring Lil Mama, Elise Neal and Jim Jones, which won Best Narrative Award at the 2019 American Black Film Festival (ABFF), “Sinners Wanted” – a faith based film starring Lamman Rucker and Clifton Powell, which will air on TV One in April 2020, and “Secrets” starring Denyce Lawton, Denise Boutte’ and Tobias Truvillion which premiered on BET in 2017. Kia is currently developing multiple television/film projects with hopes to release in 2020.
