50+ Faces – 50 Stories from our 50th Anniversary celebrants

Vincent Fields

Vincent FieldsVincent Fields was born in New Rochelle Hospital on June 21, 1990, the eldest child of Mount Vernon natives Roy and Dawn Fields. The family decided to move to White Plains after extensive research – White Plains had the perfect mix of safety, diversity and excellent schools. Vincent and his siblings attended Post Road Elementary where they quickly adapted to a new community, making lifelong friends. By the time Vincent started at Highlands Middle School, he joined the Clubmen Higher Aims Program, which was an academic afterschool program geared towards supporting young men of color, provided through the White Plains Youth Bureau. Its fearless leader, Executive Director Frank Williams, Jr., was its biggest supporter. They provided many amazing experiences for Vincent, including his first job.

Vincent is now a government and political professional. He is the District Director for State Senator Shelley Mayer who represents a part of the City of White Plains. He is also the President of the Westchester Young Democrats, a board member of LOFT LGBT Community Center and a District Leader in the White Plains Democrat City Committee. He holds a Bachelors Degree from CUNY Lehman College in Demography and Business Practice.

Vincent is forever grateful to Mr. Williams and Youth Bureau team for giving him such a rich and supportive environment to grow up in. He plans to fight to make sure the White Plains Youth Bureau celebrates another 50 years of making a difference in our children’s lives.
